Dr.Mohamed Salih

Dr. Mohamed Salih is native of Sudan who migrated to the U.S. in the early seventies. He earned his degree from Utah State University and his Masters from Montana State University He holds a Ph.D. in Natural Resources from Texas Tech University and an MBA from the University of South Dakota.      He is the former Dean of the Business and Technology division at Laramie County Community College (LCCC), a position he held from 1986 until his retirement in 2009.

    He has taught a course about the History and Philosophy of Islam at LCCC for many years. In addition he taught community courses and served on many panels about issues dealing with Islam and the Quran. He frequently writes in the local paper–Cheyenne Tribune Eagle–again about issues related to Islam and is a frequent speaker at many of the faith communities in Cheyenne. Presently he is teaching a short course about Isl am to all the Police Officers in Cheyenne. Prior to his appointment at LCCC, he served as the chair of the Applied Sciences Department at Oglala Lakota College in South Dakota.

              Dr. Salih is very active in the Cheyenne community serving on many boards and advisory committees. He is the Chair of the Board of directors for Family Promise of Cheyenne, a member and ex-secretary of the Cheyenne Interfaith Council, Secretary/Treasurer of the Southeast Wyoming Islamic Center, member of the First Education Federal Credit Union and a former member of SANKOFA African Awareness Board. He is a member of the Advisory Committees for the Cheyenne Police Department, Senior Citizen Center and Compassionate Cheyenne. He is also a member of the Young Men Literary club and the Wallop Group.

Dr. Brad Tyndall

    Dr. Brad Tyndall is the president of Central Wyoming College. He has a Ph.D. in economics with specializations in International Development and International Finance. He studied Arabic at the University of Strasbourg in France and at the Sudan Arabic Institute in Khartoum.

        In addition to working for community colleges in the U.S., he has worked in eastern Africa and the Middle East in community development for the Peace Corps, CARE International, and US AID. He was a Fulbright Fellow for a Work Bank affiliate in Kenya. Most recently, in 2016, he was asked by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to present at its World Environment Day Conference in Jubail.

            After 9/11, to promote peace and understanding, he began doing presentations on “The Loving Side of Islam”. These presentations evolved into his published book, “Touching God: A Journey, A Guide to Mysticism in Christianity and Islam”.
